Simon Labold is a descendant of the Labold family which was a longstanding Jewish family in Portsmouth. Simon Labold served as the president of Beneh Abraham as the congregation finished building thier second Synagogue in 1925. Simon was the president of First National Bank in Portsmouth and a generous donor to public causes like Mound Park and Labold Field, which later became the grounds for the Spartan Municipal Stadium. Simon Labold was influential in both community and within his own congregation Beneh Abraham.
