Portrait of Dr. James Forrest Scott, Scioto County Coroner

Dr. James Forrest Scott, who is considered the first elected black county coroner in the United States, worked with the Portsmouth Chapter of the NAACP helped plan the "wade-in" at the Terrace Club Swimming Pool, which led to the end of Jim Crow in Portsmouth.
