Pictured from this spot in time and place, the fence is a reminder that the Terrace Club was operated as a whites-only private recreation center, which featured a massive swimming pool. Although the pool was first named Dreamland when it was built in 1929, it was operated as a private club known as the Terrace Club until 1965 when its owners integrated the pool and changed the name back to Dreamland.
