Herman H. Wessel's mural, "Under the Banner of France" (1927)

Herman H. Wessel's mural, "Under the Banner of France," captures Céloron's meeting at Lower Shawnee Town. Painted in 1927, the mural is located in the Law library of the Scioto County Courthouse, Portsmouth, Ohio. Wessel's mural served as the basis for Robert Dafford's flood wall mural of the same subject.
