Wolfden Lake Dam, Then (c.1935) and Now (2012).

Wolfden Lake, located on Forest Road 25, is in the headwaters of Turkey Creek, which flows through the heart of Shawnee State Forest. Built in 1935, Wolfden Lake is one of six reservoirs constructed by Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) enrollees from nearby Camp Gordon.

The Ohio Division of Conservation photographed Wolfden soon after its construction. At three acres it is one of the small reservoirs, but also one of the more picturesque, with its hemlock and sycamore lined shores. When under a clear night's sky and lit by a full moon, Wolfden is unmatched for its beauty.
